How to make a paper plate hippo

Step 1:
~~~~~~~~~
Take a paper plate and trim the sides. Then fold a second paper plate in half and trim the sides of that too.
Step 2:
~~~~~~~~~
Paint the first paper plate grey (or whatever colour you want your hippo skin to be – pink and purple can work well, too). You only need to cover the top half as the bottom won’t show.
Then paint the folded plate pink inside and grey on top.

Step 3:
~~~~~~~~~
Glue the folded plate, grey side up, onto the white section of the first plate.
Giraffes have the same number of bones in their neck as we do – they are just much bigger
Step 4:
~~~~~~~~~
Add eyes and ears and nostrils, then draw eyeballs and freckles with a black marker

Step 5:
~~~~~~~~~
Cut teeth from white paper, fold a small edge at the bottom and glue in position
